August 26th is a VERY important day for us @ ZUDIS. It marks the day we commenced trade officially in our humble beginnings at Parkdale in the corner store and...on Philip's birthday 🎉🥳🎁

From Ikea 'Lack' shelving, crappy white $20 tables as fixtures..our shelves looked pretty bare thinking back 😳

We were committed to opening a store with our combined & extensive retail backgrounds to the local community in a strip that had nothing like it before!

There was no online presence, just good old fashioned customer service by us..7 days a week, with no day off for the first 2 years. We had a coffee component that was part of the initial lease which Philip served up and drove Mina nuts when it was her turn 🤣

Fuelled by our amazing customers & family who were behind us & always a reminder of 'hard work pays off',we welcomed the opportunity AND risk of opening up @midasandminlifestyle in Beaumaris at Seaview shops 5 years later.

It was this very bold extension of our business that shaped what Zudis is today.
Not long after that & a dual website later, we found an office/studio in Charman Rd Mentone to work on servicing our interior styling component of our business. Three store fronts later +2 kids in-between,
2017 was a HUGE learning curve!

Making sense of what we had become and making new decisions again we defined what we wanted to be for the area.

And so, the 'concept' of the warehouse conversion being the area's FIRST came to life. A slow, sluggish, gruelling & tear filled 12 months of renovating turned into a whopping 400sqm space of divine colour, community collaborations and everything in between.

With this pandemic going on at the moment, the days feel like we are working harder than ever..almost like starting new. BUT, there comes no gain without the pain they say and we are always looking at reinventing ourselves as long as our community is behind us. We definitely feel the love and gratitude at the moment.

And whilst Mina would normally waltz in on this day singing a song to Phil with balloons in hand.. because after all it is his day too..we will just celebrate differently..and adapt like we need to!
